FAIRBORN, OHIO March 25, 2010 - Peerless Technologies Corporation announced today that it is the Premier Sponsor of Wright State University’s (WSU) inaugural Celebration of Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activities that will take place at the university on April 16, 2010.
The event is WSU’s first campus-wide student research celebration, and is designed to inspire and celebrate students as critical thinkers and engaged learners in new research across multiple disciplines. Highly motivated students will come together to showcase their academic research through poster sessions and oral presentations to fellow students, faculty, partnering corporations, and external audiences.
The Celebration of Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activities exemplifies WSU’s focus on cutting-edge research to meet the technological, educational, health, arts, and social needs of the community. WSU is at the forefront of building the science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine (STEMM) workforce, and has taken the lead in developing the Dayton Regional STEM School (DRSS) and establishing the Human-Centered Innovation Center of Excellence.
As 29 percent of Peerless employees are WSU graduates, Peerless recognizes that WSU’s dedication to producing talented graduates has enriched the company’s workforce and the local region. In addition, the Wright State Research Institute and United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine are partners on Peerless’ 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW) Mission Support Services contract, providing professional support for the movement of the 711 HPW’s mission from Brooks City-Base (BCB), Texas to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) to comply with the Base Realignment and Closure Act (BRAC).
“To jointly celebrate our corporation’s 10-Year Anniversary and publically recognize our strong partnership with WSU, Peerless is excited to be the presenting sponsor of this event.” said Michael Bridges, Peerless’ President.
